Following a 5 year hotel management apprenticeship with British Transport Hotels, I graduated and was appointed to various managerial positions at many of the groups prestigious properties both in London and around the country including….. Charing Cross Hotel, Tregenna Castle, Turnberry, Gleneagles and nearly all of the company’s city hotels.   I also enjoyed a fantastic 1-year exchange opportunity working at a 5* Chateau Hotel in the glorious South of France…What’s not to like!

After 10 years in different Hotel management roles, I decided with my wife to branch out and take the plunge by opening our 1st Restaurant in the Yorkshire Dales, where we had then settled.   Over the next few years we increased our business ventures with the addition of a further 2 local venues, however, running 3 hospitality businesses with a young family is hard work and although rewarding, I felt I needed a change of direction.   We sold our business interests and I took on a Stocktake UK Franchise concentrating on offering services in the York and surrounding areas.   This lead to joining Stocktake UK on a permanent basis and moving into a directorship. Our tight-knit team looks after our large national account client base along with supporting our busy Franchisee network from our Skipton based offices.

Even now, I still enjoy a hands on approach in all aspects of the hospitality trades, but I don’t miss the long and unsociable hours, which why a franchise with Stocktake UK is such a great move!
