After working for over 30 years in the leisure\entertainment industry the opportunity to have a lifestyle change whilst staying within the same industry was too good to turn down. My franchise journey started in June of 2023.
As one of the newest members of the Stocktake UK family, my journey as a Stocktaker in East Yorkshire is just beginning. However, judging by the support I’ve already had, not only from the staff at the head office, but also from fellow franchise owners, I have no doubt that my journey will be long and enjoyable. Previously, I’ve spent over 30 years in the Tenpin Bowling Industry, starting from the bottom to overseeing 4 busy centres. This experience will be invaluable for me moving forward as I have a clear understanding of the clients needs.
Away from stocktaking I’m a devoted family man and dog lover. I enjoy (in the loosest possible terms) chasing a little white ball around a field. I’m also a big Hull City fan and season ticket holder. A sports fan in general, and can happily watch most sports. I enjoy cooking, albeit in a very rustic way, you can’t beat a good Sunday roast. I enjoy a good flavoured gin, even if counting the endless bottles of them at the back of the bar is a challenge!
If I was to offer advice to my younger self, I would tell them try this work/life route earlier.
Although I’m only at the start of my journey, the experience so far has only been positive and sure with the continued support of the head office and other franchise owners it will continue to be so.
