I became a franchisee of Stocktake UK in 1997.
I’m pleased to say that I’ve always had plenty of work of the various types of hospitality trade. Too busy at one point so I had to cut back a bit.
Prior to becoming a franchisee of Stocktake UK, my previous career was called a Stores Accountant in the the Royal Navy. This involved providing and controlling the various items and materials required to run and maintain War Ships and Aircrafts. I was also part of a team Controlling Stock at a Nuclear Power Station.
As a Stocktaker in Newcastle, establishing and maintaining long term clientele is a challenge. However, when it is done, the working relationship with the staff at the sites is great.
My personal interests are in most sports, and I enjoy participating in Walking Football, Running, Cycling and Swimming. I have a keen interest in Classic Cars, I currently own a 1959 Triumph TR3a. I play the Saxophone and Clarinet at a intermediate level. For exercise and relaxation I take long walks with my Working Cocker Spaniel, Benji.
If you could go back in time and offer your former self any advice what would it be?
Stay in the Royal Navy for the full career! but being self employed with support of the Franchisor, Stocktake UK is great as well.
