My Business has grown well over the years and I have maintained most clients since starting up in 2008. I love the fact I am still involved in hospitality and helping people where I can from my own experiences. My work/life balance is much improved and I now have control of when and where I work. Unfortunately trying to fit holidays in can be challenging, but my clients are very understanding and flexible when changes need to be made.
Before joining Stocktake UK, I had undertaken management roles in Hotels, Restaurant’s, Pubs and Nightclubs. This has given me extensive and varied experiences that I have been able to call upon to help my clients.
As a Stocktaker in Preston, I have been very lucky to have gained many of clients through my own networks prior to stocktaking, However, expanding my client base has been heavily down to word of mouth and recommendations.
Outside of work, I love pretty much any sport and share that enthusiasm with my children, so spare time tends to be quite active. However being in the industry I am, I also love experiencing good food and wine. I have learnt over the years how important it is to switch off from work and enjoy family time.
If you could go back in time and offer your former self any advice what would it be?
I wish that I had come into this career choice earlier than I did, but then again I wouldn’t have the experience I have now and the sort of clients I do without my previous career.
I think for anyone wanting to look for a right home/work balance, the flexibility of a franchise is perfect. You can work as much or as little as you want. I have done both to suit my needs of my family.
